Infinite Recovery Project 2025

I’ve met people who were called ‘success stories’…

They showed up to every group
Completed every worksheet
Never once questioned the programme.

At the end, they walked out with a certificate – and the praise of the system.

But what didn’t make it into the report was what happened next.

– Some relapsed within weeks.
– Others swapped one obsession for another.
– A few became rigid and controlling – terrified of making a mistake.
– Others started sponsoring or leading groups but felt secretly numb inside.
– Some stayed “clean” but lost all sense of joy or aliveness.

On paper, they had done everything ‘right.’
In reality, they were still suffering…..

That’s the danger of treating compliance as healing.

When honesty is punished as resistance, people learn to perform recovery instead of living it.

They smile, say the right words, tick the boxes.
And all the while, their pain goes unseen.

So, what’s important –

– Compliance doesn’t equal connection.
– following a program doesn’t equal freedom.
– And performance doesn’t equal transformation.

Real healing?

It’s messy…
It requires space to question….
And it begins when someone finally feels safe enough to be real in their own skin.

Until we start measuring that, we’ll keep mistaking survival – with a certificate – for change.

Your Turn:
If you had to choose, would you rather someone leave treatment fully compliant… or fully connected to themselves?
